Speaking up about moral issues is not common practice when faced with an ethical dilemma. In fact, most people become “morally mute” which is the act of silence when observing unethical or illegal behaviour. In this Live, I’ll be going through my notes from my research in this area to share some insights about: 1. What is moral voice and moral mutism? 2. What are the forms of moral silence? 3. Why do people choose to speak up or stay mute? I’ve interviewed morally courageous people and have read hundreds of journals and publications on this topic.
